This is me:
And my son Jr.
What can I say about my life? I spend my days doing dishes, and laundry, which often feels like a never ending battle. I found myself irritated by all of the cleaning for a while until one day when I realized that I just needed to change my mindset. I had a lot of laundry, because I was blessed with a lot of children to do laundry for. I had a lot of dishes because I was blessed with family and friends to feed, blessed with food in the cupboard, blessed with a kitchen to cook in and a house to live in. This blog is my attempt at focusing only on the positive in my life. After all, we all have our ups and downs. Things don't always go the way we plan, and we all make mistakes. But focusing on the negative keeps us from moving forward toward greater blessings for the future.
"Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, Today is a Gift. That's why it's called the Present."I love that saying. I even love that they put it in one of my favorite kid movies, Kung Fu Panda. It is simple but true. None of us know what lies ahead. We all live such busy lifestyles that we forget to stop and see what is right in front of us. Usually, no matter the circumstances we can find one thing to be grateful for. Some simple blessing. It might be that a child napped for an extra 15 minutes so you could paint your toes. Or it might be the stranger that held the door open for you at the post office, or the woman who let you merge into traffic on a busy street. For others, it may be a huge blessing. The birth of a baby, or finding out a tumor was not cancerous. We have to find joy in our lives, or our lives are quite simply not worth living.
So, here is my attempt at focusing only on the joy and blessings in my life. My children are the primary topic because they are the biggest source of my happiness. It is the little things they do that make me laugh, and bring me joy. My marriage and my husband also bring me great happiness, but my hubby would rather that I didn't write too much about him, and so I will respect his wishes. I can tell you that he is the love of my life, my best friend, and the person I love to have my adventures with. He works hard so that I can be home with the kids, and is a wonderful, loving father, and husband. I think he is an incredible blessing in my life and in the lives of others.
Here's to the blessings we have, to those that go unnoticed, to those that will come in the future. Here's to family and friends, birthday celebrations, transitions and new beginnings. Here's to joy and laughter. Here's to hoping that each and everyone of you will take time to find the blessings in your lives. And when you do, say
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
"Here's to you my little loves, with blessings from above, let the day begin........"
